Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about Day of Brotherhood.

What is the Day of Brotherhood?

Due to the unprecedented situation we are in, we have decided to repurpose our planned Giving Day and turn it into a Day of Brotherhood. We chose to focus on brotherhood because friendship and connecting with your brothers are more important than ever in these times of isolation.

Throughout the day, we will host several events to foster connection and a variety of educational sessions. We will share updates about the Fraternity and will hold several social media challenges throughout the day. We even included some activities to get the whole family involved!

The primary focus of the day is on our brotherhood. However, we know there are brothers and friends of Phi Gam who will still make a donation, and we are very grateful! For those who want to donate, there are several areas of need where your donation can help our members in the near future.

What areas can I support when making a gift on the Day of Brotherhood?

Mental Health Education: The Fraternity offers programs for our undergraduate chapters/colonies and graduate brothers. These can be accessed through the Fraternity's website at Mental health is very important, especially in our current situation. Donations made here can help us continue offering these programs and explore additional ways to support the mental health of our members.

Membership Development: The Fraternity is currently developing a Membership Development plan that supports our members through their entire undergraduate experience. This will add value to their membership, help attract more men to our organization and offer more educational opportunities.

Grants/Scholarships: More brothers are asking about available scholarships than ever before. You gift allows the Foundation to expand our scholarship reach and assist more brothers.

You will have the option to support these areas when making your donation to either the Fraternity or the Foundation.  Gifts made to the Educational Foundation are tax-deductible. Gifts made to the Fraternity can be used to support the staff, maintenance of Headquarters, updates and hosting of our website and cover other costs not included in the grant from the Foundation.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

During the Day of Brotherhood you will have the option to donate to the Educational Foundation or directly to the Fraternity. The Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. If you make your donation to the Educational Foundation, your gift will be tax-deductible. Gifts made to the Fraternity are not tax-deductible.

What is my gift going toward?

Gifts that are made to the Fraternity will be going towards headquarters staffing, Fraternity events and other items not covered by the grant from the Foundation. Gifts made to the Foundation can be put towards these areas: Mental Health Education, our upcoming Membership Development Plan or Scholarships/Grants to reach and support more of our members.

Will I receive a receipt?

You will receive an email confirmation receipt almost immediately after making your gift. If you need a physical receipt for any reason we can send one to you after the event.

I have a question not answered on this page. Whom do I contact?
